A grey squirrel enjoys the fruits of my labour.
Does this make the squirrel a communist for redistributing wealth?
Does it make me a communist for growing it for the purpose of letting it?
Or is the squirrel a capitalist, taking advantage of the opportunities presented to it by lax security and abundant nourishment?
Perhaps this does not make me a commie or capitalist, but merely a compassionate naturalist/gardener.
One thing is certain, I have never seen one group of squirrels killing another group over words or symbols.
I have never seen a squirrel church, mosque, or temple.
I have never seen a squirrel treat it's fellow squirrel as inferior or unenlightened.
They may see each other as competition for resources, but but they don't pretend one is less (or more) squirrelly than another.

We humans, who have historically treated fellow-humans as inhuman, could learn a thing or two from squirrels.
