I know nature is cruel.
I realise that the death of this bird will mean a life-sustaining meal for another animal, or, more likely, animals plural.
I even understand subsistence hunting...though I'm not certain whether this was a bullet wound, or a more natural injury.
Doesn't make seeing this Canada Goose with a wounded wing, forlornly calling by the shore of Lake Simcoe, any easier to witness, does it?
I'm afraid the days of warmer winters are over for this goose.
