I bet the authorities of York Region are thrilled to see my posts near the top of the page for their new campaign  .

The campaign is meant to address distracted driving, which I wholeheartedly agree is a problem, even among York Regional 'law enforcement officers'.
A Query For CopsIf a York Regional Law Enforcement Officer witnessed a man, driving his truck while pointing a camera at a young child on the sidewalk what would they do?
Would the officer charge the man with distracted driving?
Would the officer ask questions about what the driver was filming?
I suppose it depends on whether the driver in question is a York Regional Law Enforcement Officer...
More paranoid people than me would be concerned about being filmed in this way, as I was today.
Minding my own business, tending to my garden, a cop employed by YRP drove past with his smart phone pointed at his child, who was learning the rules of the road as it applies to a novice bicyclist.
Perhaps inadvertently, he filmed me on my property.
Would you be concerned if it were you being taped by cops?
If it were me doing the same thing, filming a child while driving a vehicle, what do you suppose he, and/or his colleagues, would do?
UPDATE: Well, at very least, the days of this cop glaring my way when he sees m

As for their choice of name...it was already being used.

York Authorities would have known that if they checked, but I guess they decided to remain ignorant about whether it was already in use, as well.

As stated before, they take that Pledge to ignore very seriously.
York Cops  ignore the law, and politicians  ignore the problem of criminal cops.

On the plus side, York Regional Police seem equally intent on ignoring me, now.
Many of these individuals, who are trained to be vigilant, pretend they don't see when I pass them, as they idle in their cruisers. They play ostrich, or blinkered horse, if you like.
Odd that, police ignoring a person doing what they had previously punished him for, especially after the authorities justified their nasty acts.
If they were so right to do what they did to me, why stop doing it?
I've asked the police and York government this question.
So far, they've ignored my queries.
